About Us:
The Eagle Valley Humane Society (EVHS) established in 1976 is located in the Eagle County Animal Control & Shelter (ECAC) in Eagle, Colorado. For several years ECAC and EVHS have worked together to achieve a high adoption/reclaim rate and prevent overpopulation. The Eagle Valley Humane Society offers many programs to the community:
- Spay and Neuter Assistance: Family Pet Assistance Program to help people who cannot afford to have their pet spayed or neutered.
- Volunteer Program: In the shelter to give the cats and dogs much needed attention.
- Foster Care: Foster homes are always in need, whether for a litter needing bottle feeding, scared animals needing some special one on one care, or an animal recovering from an injury.
- Pet Adopt-A-Thons: When the shelter is to full, volunteers get together to have on offsite adopt-a-thon, to promote the need of getting shelter animals into homes quickly.
- Bite Prevention Education in the schools: It is so important to teach children the humane treatment of animals and how to best avoid inappropriate contact with an animal.
